Several factors which affects the rural learners competency in English

           Something to ponder here, what I have seen in a rural school where a main teacher who is a non optionist handling the English society as the head of Panel. when I was appointed as  one of the English Society member and attended the session with the main teacher. Shocking situations I encountered. The toungue twisters and children rhymes which I taught the lower primary kids, long ago were shared and taught by the teacher incharge to the teenagers, whom were suppose to be exposed to public speaking but given toungue twisters and rhymes as English  Societies activity.          Kids just sat in the classroom and listen to the teacher who was talking to them. No interactive activity or speaking activities given to students, but the teacher was doing most of the talking.
