A pre uni student with 5 principles not selected to join a university

    A very sickening and a very sad incident of rural higher secoundry  school situation., I would like to share here. A girl whom I met during her Preunistudy years in my school turned out to be one of the studnet with good grades in  Form 6 but unfortunately she was not selected to any university courses due to her very bad competncy in English, she was unable to speak in simple English. The Word English she said as "inggeris: she told me" my inggeris is not good" The word English she mention as Inggeris, I was very sad to hear this girl who came looking for me for a bisness based purpose.      Her Primary schooling was in Chinese vernacullar school and secoundry she was studying here in my school unfortunately during her 7 years of schooling in secoundry  school, not even a year she was in my class. Rural schools poor achievement in English who is to be blamed

   We always blame others when the rural schools Exam result is out. How many of us try to find solution or help the school to get better or improve the result. Let us find out, how many administrators are English medium or competent in English. The teachers who are not competent  or not exposed to the basic learning skills , how are they going to help the students to excel or to get better result.                    How many rural  secondary   school  Principles are competent in English and how many of them are multi lingual or biligual. In Malaysia most of the administrators are selected based on the seniority and being how influential they are. Only the Non Muslims are selected based on their Competency in English and the school really shows improvement in the language.                             ...
