Several factors which affects the rural learners competency in English



           Something to ponder here, what I have seen in a rural school where a main teacher who is a non optionist handling the English society as the head of Panel. when I was appointed as  one of the English Society member and attended the session with the main teacher. Shocking situations I encountered. The toungue twisters and children rhymes which I taught the lower primary kids, long ago were shared and taught by the teacher incharge to the teenagers, whom were suppose to be exposed to public speaking but given toungue twisters and rhymes as English  Societies activity.

         Kids just sat in the classroom and listen to the teacher who was talking to them. No interactive activity or speaking activities given to students, but the teacher was doing most of the talking.
Something dirty this head of the panel was doing for years was, that
she chooses small number of students for her class usually 12 to 15 every year in each of the upper forms that she teaches.


       She then  fixed 30 to 35 students to be in lower forms such as form 1 and form two and give those classes to certain teachers whom she thinks really challenges her. Almost every year round she will walk like a princess and handle the same small number of  classes and students 
                whereas the same teachers will be given the bigger number of students every year and they struggle, whereas she enjoys handling 12 to 15 students in each classes.When Teacher trainees sent to school she makes sure that those whom she thinks challenge her will be given those classes fully to the trainees untill year end, but she will never give her class to any one, but handle by herself the small group whom she has selected all by hers self, yet this subject is still not achieved or reached to  a satisfying level at district and state level.

    The classes handled by the trainees, will be given to the teacher after the trainees left and the these classes when under perform , the teacher will be blamed. This is how this cunning spinster has  been surviving in this rural school for 15 years but the standard of this subject from bad has gone to worst due to her cunning mindset.

     Those who are victimized are the less privileged village kids studying here. This particular teacher  has make use of the administrators weakness in English as a plus point to move as freely as she likes in this rural school and manipulate the main people in admind  to dance according to her rhythm, until the standard of this school gone long ago and cant be improved , because  she is being a block to those who wish to help to improve the schools standard.  She prevent others to help to improve the situation, in her presence . 

      This is because she is the main person who manipulates the admind as she likes and twist the administrators with her high influence,  and as long she is here, progress in this subject cant be sachieved  overall or the kids not going to  get standard or quality education or exposure in acquiring English.
