The legendary Principle in 1970ies

        Moses Tay, a name every students in 1970ies ,Scared of n hardly opens their mouth to have friendly chat. A very strict man. Always in a T Shirt.This is his daily Attire. Tirelessly rounds the School multiple times to make sure the School goes on well . No students  outside the Class rooms. With a cane in his hand 

     He is more than an Educationist but a very responsible father of the School. Who makes sure the quality of the students always at higher level.either in Cocuricular  activities or in class room learning. 

        His own initiative was implemented, News paper reading daily, n every morning the first 15 minits allocated for News paper test. The earlier days news on news papers will be given in questions for the students to answer. Anyone who gets below 5 out of 10 ,.2 punishments. 1 for the girls to walk around school   duck walk. Boys get the caning. So to be safer, we all go to the school library daily during recess or during free period to read the daily news paper..

     Thru this way the new Comers , from other,Schools gets a chance to improve their knowledge n to polish their English. Actually this system helped me so much to conquer n be good in English 

      Year end 1980 he retired n for  the first time during his last speech as an administrator in School , too.many crying Voices of students, I cried without sound . He shouted ,Saying " stop crying or ill cane you all. "

        A father of school , A father of  non ethnic students , a legendary  Principle. School is the only place he spent his times 6 days in a week from morning till evening. A Man of power ,enthusiasm, charisma. That's the late Moses Tay. 

        I'm the last batch student get an opportunity to know him ,to listen to his speech of advice , Discipline n Correcting students . He is all in 1 and 1 in all..Though  he was aged he never sit in a corner. He walked around the town daily morning ,evening, long walks as long his health was good.

     Something special about him , He  built Teachers quarters for the school Teachers those coming frm far n Teachers who do not hv a house . Double storey Terrace house just at the back of the School building in the School Compound . 

      Teachers whose Spouce's works far away frm home town choose to stay here with their children ,who also study  here. A Humanitarian who cares for the wellness of the staffs family and the School n the students whom he cares . No one can replace his place  or be like him. He is a rare Gem which the School or Alumni of ACS  has lost forever. 

      If I started running n became a state level runner means because of my Principle, "either you all run or I chase you all with a cane" this what I heard him telling us n coming after us with his cane ,new students joined this Upper Secondary School  all of us started running on the field several circles, those who sits in Corners will be caught n forced to tun.

     Only this methods seems effective ,new school runners were found n selected to represent School and st District level .This is the School which helps me to be a long distance school runner.First time in my life at age 16 I was selected to join n participate at Perak Stadium Indera Mulia,In Ipoh in 1500 meters n 3000 meters .I was Competing with bigger size huge framed women under age 20 Category...most of the runners were 20 I'm the smallest n youngest girl in that event..

       May his soul rest in Peace. His wife Mrs TAY  a  darling lady , soft spoken , n handle  the Chapel Service most of the time. I  thank God for giving me an opportunity  to know this Special human being n studied during his years in this School. Something Proud to share about those 1970ies Teachers , They were all dressed finely and modestly. Uttered only good words, pat us on our shoulders, even the last class or last bench students were given Chance to perform better. 

       One boy who joined School from MHS n  was the Top student in Biology Paper in  arts Stream . So Choice was there for anyone to excel in any field of their Choice..
